Veganism in a Nutshell' By Bruce Friedrich

Veganism in a Nutshell' By Bruce Friedrich

"Let's face it: animals suffer and they die, just like we do. They are made of the same stuff that we are. Eating them is an act of gluttony and disregard for our own health, it is an act of disregard for the environment and for the global poor, and most of all, it is an act of disregard for our fellow animals."

VegInspiration. Evolve Spiritually to Discover - Dr. Will Tuttle

Perhaps in the past people thought they needed to enslave animals and people to survive, and that the cruelty involved in it was somehow allowed them. It’s obviously not necessary for us today, as we can plainly see by walking into any grocery store, and the sooner we can awaken from the thrall of the obsolete mythos that we are predatory by nature, the sooner we’ll be able to evolve spiritually and discover and fulfill our purpose on this… Continue

VegInspiration. Chronic Malnutrition - Dr Will Tuttle

Everyone on earth could be fed easily, because we currently grow more than enough grain to feed ten billion people; our current practice of feeding this grain to untold billions of animals, and eating them, forces over a billion of us to endure chronic malnutrition and starvation while another billion suffer from the obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer linked with eating diets high in animal foods.…

A bloody mob of hypocrites

from Paul Sheehan, SMH, October 2009

Eight nights ago Channel Nine's 60 Minutes ran a blood-curdling story about the herding and slaughter of dolphins near the Japanese fishing town of Taiji, describing what it called the ''Dante's inferno'' for dolphins. It was harrowing. It was also a classic case of Australians in glass houses.

The reporter Liam Bartlett confronted a hapless official in the local council offices… Continue

Converting people to veganism. Don't be ashamed. Be proud.

This is in lue of being told (by people on VFF) that one should not be proud or claim credit for someone going vegan even if it's obvious they wouldn't of gone vegan without your information sharing and encouragement. They also claimed this because apparently going vegan is the 'choice' of the person alone. If that were so, we can discredit the suffragette movement because it's clear, by the logic presented by these VFF vegans, that the suffragette movement made no difference in changing… Continue

My thoughts on the apathy of our society towards animal cruelty....

I will continue to fight for the lives of baby harp seals.... only now it is in the name of my best friend Tristan (the silver shaded persian kitty whose picture I used in my badge), who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in June of 2009.... his passing at the age of 12 was a complete shock and occurred as a result of a reckless, insensitive human being. Anyone hurting an animal through wilful or reckless action should be thrown in jail or have the same fate inflicted on them that they inflicted on the… Continue

The rise of the ''happy meat'' movement is not good news for animals

More people are becoming aware of the atrocious conditions that factory farmed animals live in, as well as the shocking cruelty inflicted on them. This is largely due to revelations in the media showing what really goes on behind the closed doors of intensive animal farming.

Authors including Jonathan Balcombe and Jeffrey Masson have documented the emotional lives of farmed animals, demonstrating beyond a doubt that they experience grief, pain and pleasure, and form deep social and… Continue
