To meet these demands, international conglomerates build oil palm plantations as far as the eye can see -- and cut down the rainforest in exchange. Sustainability certificates and eco-labels are meant to set the consumers' minds at ease. However, this documentary from Indonesia shows that sustainability does not exist: Wilmar International, the world's biggest palm oil supplier, clear-cuts the Indonesian rainforest without legal permits, contaminates rivers and lakes and uses force to drive people off their homesteads -- all this in the face of sustainability certificates.

For More Information:

http://www.rainforest-rescue.org/news/3195/the-sustainability-lie-a-film-about-the-dirty-palm-oil-business Diving with Sharks and Turtles at Lankayan Island Dive Resort, Malaysia tag:arzone.ning.com,2011-09-22:4715978:Video:67502 2011-09-22T00:43:40.599Z Dr Bruce Alexander https://arzone.ning.com/profile/DrBruceAlexander

Malaysia Reviews
Resorts in Malaysia: Jannek from Denmark and his family return to Lankayan Island Dive Resort. It's one of their favourite destinations where they get to unwind and enjoy the pristine natural environment at this remote and unspoilt location.
Keen to see some of the larger fish, sharks and turtles, he compares this holiday with his previous stay at the resort. This time most of the larger fish were very close to shore just of the beach in front of the guest houses.
It's great for kids! If they don't splash about too much it's quite easy to sneak up on the turtles and small black tipped reef sharks feeding near the banks of seaweed about 20 meters off the sandy beaches.
Lankayan Island is part of a large marine park and is well protected by group of police and army forces stationed on the island. It is a natural nesting place for Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles.
