Professor Steven Wise has practiced animal protection law for over 30 years. He was the first person to teach a class on Animal Law at Harvard Law School, and has taught "Animal Rights Law" or "Animal Rights Jurisprudence" for more than 20 years.
Author of four books including Rattling the Cage:Toward Legal Rights For Animals, and Though the Heavens May Fall:The Landmark Trial That Led to the End ..., Steve Wise has collaborated with leading scientists in the fields of primatology and animal intelligence and behaviour.
Formerly president of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Steve is most recently the founder and Director of the Nonhuman Rights Project, working in the USA for the legal rights of other animals.
