Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
Professor Tom Regan, often referred to as the philosophical leader of the animal rights movement, and named as one of fifty visionaries who are changing the world, opened the debate "Does the Animal Kingdom Need a Bill of Rights" at the Royal Institute of Great Britain in 1989. This is still seen as one of the greatest animal rights speeches of all time.
Professor Regan sums up at the end of the debate here, in a speech that is equally brilliant.
