Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
After 10 years of intensive engagement to save whales and dolphins on a private basis and with the great supported of former “Flipper”-trainer Richard O’Barry, the Whale-and Dolphin-Protection-Forum (WDSF) has been founded in Berlin in the year of 2007 by Jürgen Ortmüller. Since 2008, WDSF is a charitable and tax-exempted organization (NGO) which is based in Hagen/Westfalia (Germany). WDSF is a notarial certified and registered organization, acknowledged by the court system of Hagen (HR B 8068. For further animal-protection projects, WDSF is permitted by the taxation department in Hagen (St.No. 321/5807/1765) to issue a tax return certificate for donations. The financial report is annually published in the electronic “Bundesanzeiger” (accessible to every internet user).
WDSF is a charitable organization, which does not have any ulterior motives. WDSF is not a membership organization in order to keep the cost as low as possible. A sustaining membership is possible (also per PayPal). The CEO and the volunteer co-workers do not receive any wages or remunerations contrary to other charitable organizations. Therefore, the organizational costs can be kept to a minimum and the donations are only used for the well being of the whales and dolphins.
WDSF is herewith inviting interested activists to participate in informational gatherings and demonstrations. Prominent whale and dolphin rights activists, as for instance ex- TV-trainer of “Flipper” Ric O’Barry, also attends demos organized by WDSF, without any compensation. Ric O’Barry (EII) as well as other biologists and scientists, are members of the board of WDSF. For more information, please check “Kuratorium” (Board of Trustees) on the WDSF home page.
