Hi Heather. I find the facial expression of this poor quail to be heart-wrenching, when considering their plight. I too wish we could help them all.
I realise I said something that is ambiguous. When I said "confined and abused", it would have been much better to say "confined and exploited". The problem with the word "abused" is that it implies there could be a correct way to use them. Which of course there cannot be. Exploitation is exploitation even if the degree of cruelty is less. No vulnerable being should ever be used for the purposes of others. It's good to be able to improve on things if we haven't expressed ourselves correctly. The point at which we see our errors, is the point at which we learn how to do better.

All animals have the moral right to life and liberty, we should demand nothing less than this.

kate, yes.. it really is. this beautiful birdie gave me the perfect expression for this shot and i wish I could have helped all of them. as you can see, the cage isn't that big (it's easy to see the back bars)

Poor quails. It's so sad that they're being confined and abused like this. :(
