Beena Mohapatra, affectionately called Beena Mashi (Aunty Beena) is an aging lady, living in Calcutta, India, who sacrifices everything for 'her' stray dogs and cats.

She is a domestic maid in return for a room to sleep and eat in and after she has finished the chores she carries 20 heavy buckets of water per day for butchers and fishmongers in return for scraps of meat and fish for her dogs and cats. Being a vegetarian, this is a part of the market that she would rather not visit but she will do anything for her animals.

We have an open fundraiser to help Beena enjoy an early retirement from all the hard work and give her aching limbs and back some rest. Our friend who followed her in the video is in regular contact with her and even went with her to the bank to reactivate her bank account so that the donations can be transferred straight into it by us.Please watch the videos below and see just how hard the life that she leads is for a lady of her age.
