Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
Prof. Cirila Toplak, PhD, Department of Political Theory, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia writes:
I have completed a project that might be of interest to you for publication on your website. With the assistance of my senior political science students I have collected data on a representative sample of 86 countries worldwide pertaining to the level of their anthropocentricity/biocentricity. Alienation from nature has been evaluated on 11 indicators addressing the society's attitude towards animals. The final ranking and a thorough explanation of the theoretical background and methodology of the Animal Friendly Countries' Index are in attachment. The Slovenian version of both documents has been published at the website of our university research centre www.politologija.si.
Please read the theoretical background and methodology here.
