I am twenteen, I keep forgetting that is my age now. I live just along the coast in Bournemouth, I think I always would like to live by the sea now. It seems Brighton is the capital for a lot of things haha :)
I didn't realise there were people in this country who would still wear fur, I thought it was considered taboo by the public. I'm surprised. I have only been to Brighton once and I remember outside the sea life centre there were protesters -"Stop the seal and otter prison" I think they had the support of the public, it was a good demonstration.
I don't know much about SHAC other than the picture the media paints, but I don't think I've ever believed the media on anything. You sound like you are doing a lot which is really good, all your time and energy goes into the movement it looks like.
I'm not involved in any campaigns, I'm a fresher and don't really know who to turn to out there, apart from online. I've been dominated by the welfarist approach for so long during college and uni. But the whole idea of regulating slaughterhouses and setting up captive breeding programmes etc, etc, seems irrelevant to me now. Well I know it's irrelevant, it's backwards and I don't want to be involved in that, I've lost faith in my course now, because that is the focus.
Any guidelines or advice you have on how to find people in my area. I want to set up a society at my uni, but there needs to be at least 5 of us. So I'm working on that.
I am someones teengage vegan son, but do not have one myself :)
The only animals I share my life with are brine shrimp. They're amazing. I miss my cat, dog and chicken friends though, they live with the exboyfriend in the bigger place.
How is Brighton? It seems like a very forward thinking place in regards to responsible living, is that correct or is that just the image the media portrays and an assumption made with having Caroline Lucas as your MP?
and as I retired a few months ago, now I'll have time, and I'm going to be an inspector for the Brigitte Bardot foundation ( you probably heard of it, a well-known french actress, who has been campaigning against seal hunting for about 20 years,) so I'll go to places where people are suspected to ill-treat animals, and investigate, and then the foundation can sue if it is true....maybe welfarist way of doing, some might think, I don't know!...difficult to know what is good when it comes to helping animals...
Same thing, you are welcome if you come to France, not to a vegan town, but to a nice vegan home! I love cooking!
a few hours ago someone brought me a tiny lost kitten, they found her in the streets of the small town nearby........as they know I love animals, now, she's home....and one of my 2 cats isn't pleased at all! I'll have to try and solve the problem! time will surely do, anyway!
I feel the same, we must not stop fighting to save and allow animals to have better lives......even if some call us awful welfarists...difficult for me to understand, as in France, we are not at all in that kind of debates...veganism only begins here......nearly nobody knows what it is apart from some people in Paris.....so the US, and probably great Britain are far ahead of us on this question
I live near Grenoble, in the Alps, it's not far from Lyon, south east of France, but soon going to move to a warmer place near Carcassonne, southward!
I live with 2 cats who adopted me.....true! they just came and settled with me, both of them! very funny, no?
Animal Rights Zone (ARZone) is an animal rights site. As such, it is the position of ARZone that it is only by ending completely the use of other animal as things can we fulfill our moral obligations to them.
