Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
During the decade when I lived in Oregon, which seems like a lifetime ago now, I was an animal rights activist. And while I no longer consider myself an active activist, the experience forever changed my perspective. Mostly it was the people I met that changed me, people who I knew cared even more than I did, people who gave up much to gain little. Once the images of animal cruelty find their way into your brain there's no going back. It's impossible to remove the brand of inhumanity once seared on one's psyche. A family tragedy derailed my activism and I never quite recovered. But the experience was the inspiration for my debut novel, Waterfall Dance, and I would love to share it with the Animal Rights Zone.
The jist of the novel is not easy to explain in a sound-bite but the story generally uses chimpanzee communication and a courtroom drama to make the case for great ape protection. It's a novel, after all, intentionally written to bring animal rights to mainstream readers. That's not easy: no judgment, no preaching, dramatic elements, and, above all, a story that introduces animal rights without the detection of "animal rights."
I believe I have succeeded and challenge five serious readers to take me up on a give-a-way, only asking in return that you honestly review the book and bring that reading experience back to this group.
Not every style of book is for everybody, so you'll want to see the title description and reviews for yourself at Amazon.com. Or visit my website- StoriesThatStir.com
If interested, e-mail me directly at andrewq@peoplepc.com. Say that you're from the Animal Rights Zone, give me an address, and I'll send you a copy. The first five get a copy. US residents only please, because overseas shipping is too expensive.

Hi Andrew,
I live in Australia, so I'm excluded anyway. :)
Good luck with the book!

Hello Andrew. I live in the U.K., so that's me out too.
I notice you say this about your book
- the story generally uses chimpanzee communication and a courtroom drama to make the case for great ape protection. -
I wonder if you would care to elaborate on this as I can see from anti-speciesist perspective this could be highly problematic.
Thanks.
Greetings
