Animal Rights Zone

Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism

Someone recently charged that folks on ARZone are free to discuss anything but ARZone itself.  I would like to offer this opportunity for anyone to make suggestions, voice opinions (positive or negative) and see if together we can keep our community open, educational, and introspective.

What works for you? What would you like to see change? Now is your chance. We are listening!

It seems to me that ARZone is constantly asking its members to talk about ARZone and how to improve it. Isn't the very fact that ARZone seeks out a diversity of guests from all parts of the "animal movement" evidence in itself that ARZone is self-reflexive? We don't take it for granted that we have the answers.

Whoever it was that said ARZone isn't welcoming to criticism must be confusing us with some other place that's also called ARZone.

ARZone is a place of learning. For me it's not that ARzone tells me what to think, you give me transcripts, podcasts, discussion and debate. It's hard to explain but there is no ego, many places/people are about 'me and what I do for other animals' and ARZone is about other animals.

I love that even within the admins there are differences of opinions. There is an openness that is refreshing.

It seems to me that any individual who makes claims that ARZone does anything other than encourage others to discuss, critique and help improve ARZone may be making statements based on something other than facts and truthfullness.

It would be an odd thing to do, to hold an ARZone Workshop titled:

Is ARZone Saying What Its Members Want To Hear?
http://arzone.ning.com/notes/ARZone%27s_Member_Workshop

if ARZone were trying to oppress the views of our members and others.

It would seem that the person who made these claims may be somewhat confused, or perhaps even be intentionally misleading others.

I forgot to say the most important thing:  (yes, caps for emphasis) THANK YOU ARZONE ADMINS!

Thank you too, Mo! For your continued support and greatly appreciated contributions! :)
