Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
I have the idea that Gary Francione's abolitionist. Francione is said that nonhuman animals should only have the right not to be the property of humans, is this true?
If only human animals have the right not to be properties then the hunters would not do anything wrong to hunt them.
I am abolitionist but also I am a defender of animal rights. My opinion is that nonhuman animals must have the right to life, to not be mistreated, to legal representation, etc.
As abolitionists, I like the idea of David Pearce to abolish suffering.
I've used the Google translator. My apologies if I'm not well understood.
Regards,
David.

Hi David,
The translation is great!
I believe, as Professor Tom Regan states, that other animals should be afforded the right to their life, their liberty and their bodily integrity.
I do believe that all animals deserve the right not to be the property of another, but I really don't think that goes far enough in explaining what we should be aiming for and asking for.
Unfortunately Prof. Francione doesn't seem to be very good at explaining his theories when questioned about them, choosing instead to become defensive and aggressive. It's a shame he's not better prepared to enter a civil discussion about his theories. Then again, it seems vegan education isn't something he's familiar with.
Hi Roger,
Prof. Francione is, I agree, very charming and willing to discuss his theories amongst those who happily agree with both him and his theories. Perhaps I should have used the word "debate" his theories when I suggested that Prof. Francione often became rude and aggressive upon being questioned.
Unfortunately, some who would like to discuss his theories with him live in places other than those he regularly, or even rarely visits and are left with the internet as our only source of communication. It's unfortunate that most attempts to question him are met with unkindness and rudeness under such circumstances.
I agree with the suggestion that other animals should not be regarded as the property of another. I also believe other animals should be afforded more rights than just this one and that many of Prof. Francione's theories simply are either stale and old, or, in this case, doesn't go far enough.
