It's freaking cold out, and I've decided that it's time for more soup to become part of my daily diet. Why? Because soup is cheap (quite important)l, filling, and delicious. Best part is that it's a…Continue

"I'm uncomfortable using anything except "vegan", because there's a whole lifestyle thing that goes with it, y'know? It's more than just avoiding things. Being vegan is living your life a certain way. "

Flash Gaajar Halva

The traditional version of this recipe involves large quantities of dairy, huge tubs of sugar, and ages of time spent in boiling, reducing, and stirring, along with plenty of anxiety about not burning the whole mess. This version takes about ten minutes or so. My friends Anjali and Rehmah were at my house, eating lunch. Someone mentioned sweets of some sort, and Rehmah instantly got a craving for some kind of sweet. I didn't have much else in the house, so I knocked this version out very…See More

Hi Dino

The Alternative Vegan is out of this world!  If you took out all the recipes and left only the techniques I would still have learned more about cooking from your book than in my 50 something years!  My mum didn't cook and us kids were not welcome in the kitchen (it’s a long story).

I love that the book is not a set of instructions but rather it's a conversation.  And the best part is that Indian food has always been my fave.

Thanks, Dino, for the Alternative Vegan.

Hiya Dino.  I listened to your podcasts years ago.  Thanks for them, btw.

The odds are better of me swinging by for a cup of coffee in a local coffee bar to or from a flight than a dinner.  Usually if I'm home I cook and spend time with the family but I never say never.  Dinner might very well be a possibility.

Stories about flying are always available though.  I just posted about a place in Lee's Bakery.  (Marty's Flying Vegan Review).  Not quite in WH but probably about half way.  They change their menu daily so I'm due back up for a meal.

what's the best way to contact?

Hey Dino, just saw your site - - the concept behind your book seems interesting and I could use some pointers in the cooking department, especially with international dishes (which are my favorite kinds of meals). Looking forward to reading it!
