The Domination of the Feminine was a revelation to me; I had NO IDEA cows gave birth before giving milk. I went vegan because of it, really. It would be wonderful to see your individual experiences…Continue

Brenda, thanks for your wonderful comments. I am now beginning chapter 11. I have a friend who wants to read it, then I will most likely read it again, I think it's one of those books that gives you something more everytime you read it!

Wonderful experience to read...resonating, lucid, coherent, compassionate, food for thought... and am only half way through.

Dr. Tuttle has answered some long standing questions I've had. It did not make sense that young women's menarche in NA has such an early onset [12.5 yrs]. Our bodies do not finish growing until approx. 18 years of age and it is then they [young women's bodies] can accommodate pregnancy. The high estrogen load in mother cows' milk accelerates sexual maturity. Much more in the book about this.

He makes multiple parallels between the violence done to animals by humans and what humans do to each other strikingly apparent.

Excellent reference book for animal advocacy because it is filled with facts and depth of thought that are far ranging. Some more facts regarding human physiology..desire for the taste of meat fades as the taste bud cells renew about every 3 weeks..this 'taste' specific to animal flesh is actually urea, which is a cell waste product that the kidneys continually filter out of the blood then excrete, making up a large part of urine.

Everpresent in this book is the ongoing dialogue of the exploitation and cruelty of non-humans and subsequent degradation of the planet which whomever is reading this is very much aware of...so again a handy reference for facts.

For those who have blogs, I highly recommend his book, not just for the little known facts on physiology, for its subtle, personal transformation [softening, strengthening, connecting].
He speaks so nicely to the feminine, from from the feminine, unearthing more of the principle. This voice has been silenced and almost drowned out through multiple milennia and most welcome to hear it coming through, mingled with the male voice [principle] .

Well that is how his book is speaking to me! Hope you buy it for yourself, and for non-vegan friends and family. Thanks Will and to Madelaine also for capturing part of the vision in your artwork. I hope that doesn't come across as presumptuous, Madelaine.

Sandy, there are quite a few of Will's videos and audio recordings in AR Zone. One video in particular which is about 55 mins long is a lecture by Will on his book. He explains different sections of the book and tells stories of how he became vegan and all sorts of really interesting stuff.
Also, in suggested reading, in the books section of AR Zone, there's quite a lot of Will's work.

Let me know if there's anything in particular you're looking for and can't find and I'd be happy to help you.

His 12 audio recordings, which he made free to download prior to his chat are also excellent.

The interview on the weekend wasn't recorded, it was a web based chat. What you see in the transcript is what most other people saw as it was transpiring.

I'm hoping Will may return and spend more time with us at a later date.

I agree, he is a really wise person ... enjoy !!

Welcome to the group Helena. Have you read the book already?

Hi Carolyn, I'd love to hear what your favorite part of the book is. Mine (so far - I'm paused at chapter 9 The Dilemma? of Work), has been about "leaving home" and questioning the indocrinated beliefs, it made me consider a lot of beliefs I have about a bunch of different things, like my ability to be successful, aging, religion. I'm going to be sorry when I finish it, it's like listening to a wise person give a beautiful long talk. I guess I'll just read it again!

I read the transcript (available here http://arzone.ning.com/forum/topics/dr-will-tuttle-guest-chat?xg_so...), I'm hoping an actual recording becomes available sometime.

Have you read the book?
