Hi Michelle,

I have a son who is 16, and I know he struggles at times with a lot of the pressures most people of your age do. I admire you for making such an important decision in your life, and for reaching out to other teenagers.

There is a group in Australia called ATAAC (Australians Teens Against Animal Cruelty) that might be helpful for support or friendship. I know the people who founded this group, and they are very good people.

Hope that helps a little, and good luck! :)

thank you il check it out :)

I am 19, and I too am finding it hard to meet any other teens who were vegans.I just became a vegan in the past month.

Hi Leslie,

Congratulations on taking the step to being vegan! When I decided to live vegan I had huge health benefits too. If you are interested in reading, there is a wonderful book I'd highly recommend called The World Peace Diet, written by Dr. Will Tuttle.

Good luck with everything! :)

Michelle - i really enjoy it, was the best thing i ever did. have to say im not that good with the cooking / food side of things so having to cook for my self has been a bit hard, but am geting there, i think.... meeting outher vegas was hard at first but since i moved from the countryside to Glasgow have met a lot.

Hi olly,

I'll probably not win any awards anytime soon with my cooking skills, but it's kept me alive so far :)

I found Dino Sarma's recipes helpful because he uses basic ingredients, and breaks it down for people like me. His podcast has some basics too, like how to cook pasta - http://archive.org/details/BeginnerCookingPasta - I've done that millions of times, but with his advice, now I feel like I can get much better results.

This is a recipe that Dino just started telling me about in chat here on ARZone one day - I put the amounts and ingredients at the top (hope it's easy enough to convert to metric). It makes a huge amount like for maybe 4-6 people, so if it's just one or two people, I'd recommend cutting everything in half.

His blog is http://altveg.blogspot.com/

I have an easy time finding these things in the grocery store, but I'm curious to hear about Glasgow.
