Environmentalists Must Support Controlled Immigration Quotas

Karen Shragg - a "lifelong environmentalist, naturalist, educator, poet, author and overpopulation activist" - has a message worth repeating:"It is time to have a more nuanced discussion about immigration that includes the environment."Highlights from that blog containing those comments:"The flaw in the sentiment on the beautiful…See More

International Day fpr Chickens

Once again it will be the International Respect for Chickens Day to be held on May 4th of this year. My contribution to this event will be to establish the fact these birds are highly intelligent, contrary to the way most people feel about them.Science Now Confirms this fact:Contrary to the view once held by conventional ornithology that birds are mentally inferior to mammals and that chickens, turkeys, quails and other ground-nesting birds are “unquestionably low in the scale of avian…See More

Both Taxpayers and Animals Lose on This One if Not Stopped

As a taxpayer and lover of animals I have just learned that the National Institutes of Health is delaying action they promised to do in relation to the remaining 100 or so chimpanzees they are supposed to transfer to the Chimp Haven Sanctuary now using the excuse they feel it would best to let them “age in place” rather than transfer them. “Age in place” simply means keeping them there until they pass away but not using them for research anymore. Knowing how researchers do not want to give up…See More

Legislation That Would Make Mockery the term, "refuge" in a Wildlife Refuge

If legislation continues to be passed like the one I list in the paragraph that follows the word, “refuge”, in the phrase, “wildlife refuge” will be made a mockery and completely fool people when visiting these so called wildlife refuges that the animals there are completely free from any hunting, trapping or fishing activity. My congressman, Rob Wittman, from Virginia just helped introduce Keep America’s Refuges…See More

Get H.R. 1243 (The BEST Act Passed)

Again thanks to Congressman Johnson of Georgia, he has reintroduced his bill, The Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training Practices Act, H.R. 1243 which requires the Department of Defense to develop and implement human based training for the treatment of combat injuries rather than live animal based methods. Let's rally around Congressman Johnson's heroic and noble efforts to continue to press for passage of this most humane legislation by contacting your Congressional Representative…See More

Questions You Need to Ask before Purchasingn an Duckling or Baby Chick

As we approach this Easter Season, the thought of many parents is to get a duckling to raise as a pet for their children.  Unfortunately they don’t realize the responsibility involved with raising these creatures and If, they really want to learn the true and humane responsibility involved, they need to ask themselves honestly and truthfully the following  questions: Q: Am I legally allowed to have ducks where I live?Make sure to check with local town regulations first, to make sure that you…See More

Stop "Hunt with the Trumps for $1million

The wildlife of our nation will not fare well under the presidency of Donald Trump.  In fact on the very first day of Mr. Trump's presidency our wildlife will begin to suffer more than they have ever suffered in the past when Mr. Trump's two sons both ardent hunters sponsor "Hunt with the Trumps for $1million" so the President-elect can start a fundraiser the day after inauguration where donors can win the chance to go shooting with Donald's sons.  How sickening can his sons get to promote such…See More

Of course I am totally opposed to animal experiments. After reading what you wrote about animal experiments I thought that my article and especially the section written by Dr Anderegg would give you some further useful information. If animal experiments are useless, counterproductive and damaging then we do not need an alternative to them, we simply abolish them. Campaigns and funds who advocate "alternatives" are reinforcing the myth that animal experiments must be useful in some way.
