Why are you vegan?

Hi Joanna,

I've only been vegan for about 15 months, but was veggie for some time prior to that. Like you, I can't imagine living any other way.

I became vegan when I realised the pain and suffering involved with dairy and egg production. I knew eating flesh was the wrong thing from an early age, but had no idea about the dairy industry until recently.

I'm incredibly grateful I was able to learn and change my lifestyle accordingly.

Being vegan is the most natural way to live my life. I believe it's the people who continue to eat the flesh of other animals and continue to participate in the cruelty of the dairy industry who live unnatural lives.

Wearing dead seals and cows, supporting mulesing in Australian sheep, eating dolphins, calves, baby sheep, tortured chickens, dogs and live snakes, the list goes on and on, and these culturally appropriate people call vegans weird. What a funny world!

Hi Joanna,

Vegan (2nd time round) for 5 years now. And no, I can't imagine my life to be any other way. Like most of you I can't stand or justify the suffering and pain involved with meat and dairy 'farming'.

Even the thought of eating meat is starting to get abhorrent :)
