excellent perception Kate! She was indeed very pensive- she hadn't had humans handle her for six years (her owner got her as a kid and then neglected her as he got older) so I don't think she quite knew what to think of us people. The stable she's being kept at is HUGE- she has her own lake and a good mile of roaming land. We're planning on working with her more come spring to get her more settled and comfortable with us

Well done for rescuing Velvet.
I love how this photo captures her expression, although I think she looks pensive.
I look forward to seeing more photos of her when she's more settled in. X :o)
