Hi Jeanne, Thanks for getting back to me. I will pick up the cook book you suggest. What are some vegan substitutes for eggs, butter, cream cheese and sour cream. As for my children. They have seen some footage and are upset and disgusted by it. They make comments that they want to give up meat but then they decide they are in the mood for a hamburger. They're just not completely there yet. They have watch some of Earthlings but not all. At their ages it is VERY hard to direct them to something this big. Unfortunately, I did not realize the stuff I realize now when they were younger and it would have been so easy to have then go vegan along side me. My next problem is we rescue dogs and put them on raw food diets. now dogs were intended to eat meat but the meat in stores are from tortured animals. This is another dilemma. How do I feed my dogs what they were intended to eat and currently eat without buying meat for them? For me personally, I can easily be vegan. My love of animals and their welfare far surpasses any need to have any other lifestyle. My struggle is feeding my children and feeding my 10 dogs. As for my children, I can bake and have them bake items with no eggs, milk or butter but can't prevent them from eating a non vegan diet on the outside. This is my struggle. Jennifer
Hi. My name is Jennifer, I live in NY. I have been a vegan for 1 month and am finding it hard to figure out what has eggs and butter ad milk in it that is already made at the store. I do not have any problems with not eating meats but I am having problems with eggs, butter milk etc because they seem to make up a lot of non meat meals such as french toast and pancakes or cage and cookies. I need help with knowing what I can do to substitute these things. My kids are 18, 19& 22. They do not want to go vegan and I am torn when they look in the frig and want milk, eggs and meat. I have caved in and purchased it for them because I know I can't enforce my choices on them at this late stage of the game. I think this is my toughest obstacle. Can you give me any advice? Thanks so much, Jennifer
