Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
ALV Open Rescuers have recently been in court for actions they took to expose the horrors of Somerville Egg Farm. Despite the atrocious conditions and the appalling state of the hens, the farm has not been prosecuted for its obvious abuse of the birds. Instead, the Rescuers were charged, and have now been fined $1000 each.
As with any court case, expenses are high, particularly if the verdict is appealed, and this is where you come in! If you see these campaigns and admire the courage and conviction of the Rescuers, and wish you could be a part of these actions, this fundraiser is your chance to make a contribution.
The evening will include a presentation on the campaign, from members of The Somerville 12; an opportunity to learn about ways you can help; a vegan mini-market; fabulous vegan finger food and drinks; and a myriad of ways in which you can contribute to this cause.
But, if you're unable to attend the fundraiser, ALV have made available the opportunity to show your support by making a contribution to these wonderful people and their very important work. Please consider making a donation here:

Tickets are $36 and can be purchased online from:

or ask one of the ARZone admins for help.
If you couldn't be on the rooftop or in the sheds, you can still be a part of the campaign - come along and show your support.
If you can't make it on the night but would like to contribute, there is also a donate option when you go to the online ticket page. Cheers!

I'll go. Thanks for posting Carolyn.
I agree, Kim. People like this deserve our gratitude, not to be punished. It's not much of a justice system that sees fit to seek justice for only one species. The Somerville egg factory is such a small part of the huge problem, and these individuals will never see any justice or respect.
I hope you might find time to take some photos, Kerry. I wish I could get down there too, ALV deserve our support and gratitude. Patty, and the ALV members are doing amazing work down there.
I'll see how I go Carolyn and if I can get any pics will post them here. I'll look forward to the event.
