Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism

VegInspiration. Donald Watson

The motivation behind vegan living is the universal spiritual principle of compassion that has been articulated both secularly and through the world’s religious traditions; the difference lies in veganism’s insistence that this compassion be actually practiced. The words of Donald Watson, who created the term “vegan” in 1944, reveal this practical orientation and bear repeating: Veganism denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practical, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose; and by extension promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals, and the environment.

Has anyone done a study on the food people eat in places ravaged by war, compared to places where they have been living in peace for generations? In semitic languages lehem means bread in Hebrew, whereas lahem means meat in Arabic...  and the word for war is milehema (same root of the word!) interesting isn't it? What about studying the connections that certain words and similar parallels in other languages have relating to the world peace diet? Is there a connection between the word piece [as in a piece of the whole] and peace? In Hebrew Shalom is peace, and Shalem is whole. (same root of the word). Considering achieving peace, in order for peace to become everlasting, this has to apply to the whole of the population, not just part of it... taking into consideration every earthling, avoiding speciesism...
