I Am Animal ~ Tim Gier
In the eyes of the animal, looking back at me, I see the stark vitality, the raw reality. Confronted with this immediacy of innocence, this essence of being, I recoil, and frightened by the reflection of my own insignificance, I strike out against her, struggling to save my self through separation and subjugation.
I am lost, and I know not who I am or what I have done.
I am human? Too much so, and for far too long.
I am animal, she is me, and we are our only hope.
