Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has some interesting information speaking up against use of animals in research and preferring vegan to vegetarian diets in their FAQ's.

See online at: http://www.pcrm.org/search/?cid=261

It is great to see members of this profession standing up for animals.  In the meantime, vegans in Australia calling on the government to start renaming food groups.

Thanks Roger.  I'm not sure I'd take a 'Pro-Tester's" criticism all that seriously.  While I haven't read through everything on the PCRM website because it does have a lot in there, I see they offer CPD for medical practitioners and say that vegan diet is better than vegetarian. They do comment about achieving a reduction, rather than abolition, of birds being used to test toxic levels by law according to the EPA, but knowing what the authorities are like here in Melbourne suspect they are dealing with those who don't belong to MENSA anyway.  It's a bit of a change in my experience from doctors getting into a conniption over vegan diets. I note for example Dr Mercola, who is known for being unconventional, is opposed to following a vegan diet relating to the B12 and Vit D that is often cited as the main reason for eating meat and dairy.  Having said that I'll watch with interest to see what goes on there.  Cheers
