Yes I saw this.  My concern is that being vegan in this type of article is seen to be a dietary issue and doesn't explain the whole rejection of animal products in clothing and other products.  Good to see some positive news however, and may help sway some people who may be thinking about it.

I hadn't seen the Sydney Morning Herald article, thanks for posting it, Pranav!

I disagree with Kerry's assessment of this particular article. I think the information presented in this article was very supportive of ethical veganism, and the author quoting Ellen and others speaking about some of the reasons they live vegan, in a mainstream publication like the SMH is wonderful.

I found this article quite encouraging.
