Fighting for animal liberation and an end to speciesism
Dutch scientists have used stem cells to create strips of muscle tissue with the aim of producing the first lab-grown hamburger later this year.
The aim of the research is to develop a more efficient way of producing meat than rearing animals.

Ok feeling a bit stupid now. I had overestimated science and assumed that no-one's body was involved at any stage of this. I had assumed that the 'meat' was manufactured right from the start. Once I'd read the above and realised that it is merely a form of cloning and that someones body had to be used at some point I tried to relocate comments I'd made earlier in Facebook. Aghhhhhhh
Of course I couldn't support a thing like that. Perhaps the Dutch veg rep is assuming that half of his members are as dumb as me. :s
