The Humane Society of The United States through it's Animal Sheltering Magazine has proven that cats very rarely carry rabies or toxoplasmosis. This is a must read for all those interested in cats. I give you the following links of their proof:

Dr Michael Greger in one of his talks said that raw chicken prepared for human consumption is highly likely to be contaminated with toxoplasmosis. I think other meats also carries toxo but is pretty much guaranteed to be in raw chicken and once opened contaminates the whole surrounding kitchen area.
