China:~UPDATE ON 200 CATS RESCUED FROM TRAFFICKER IN SHANGHAI. KINGPIN TRAFFICKER ASKS THUGS TO BEAT UP ACTIVISTS!
BREAKING NEWS: Activists in Shanghai intercepted a cat trafficker early this morning (6 January 2014) with the help of local police at at Qi Lian Shan Nan Lu, Pu Tuo, Shanghai (祁连山南路, 普陀, 上海). They held up the traffickers, the truck and their motorbikes and more than 20 crates containing hundreds of cats. They reported the situation to the police and posted on Weibo asking more people torush to the scene to support them. The police arrived swiftly. All motorbikes used to transport cats have been confiscated by the police because they were travelling with foreign plates and no licence! All the cats have been rescued and all the bamboo crates have been burnt down to ashes. Approximately 200 cats have been shared among private rescuers/activists. Some people reposting the rescue on Weibo are asking others to send breakfast to the scene for the activists. One pregnant cat was so traumatised at the scene that she miscarried her kitten which sadly died in the cold weather. The kingpin of the cat traffickers sat on the floor while police questioned her. She was making calls on her phone asking 30 thugs to beat up the activists!
